A Quality Manager in a Strip & Pipe Mill is responsible for ensuring the quality of steel strip and pipe products throughout the manufacturing process. Key Responsibilities:
Developing and Implementing Quality Plans:
Creating and maintaining quality assurance protocols and procedures for the strip and pipe mill.
Monitoring Production Processes:
Continuously observing the manufacturing process to ensure adherence to quality standards and identify potential issues.
Inspecting Products:
Conducting thorough inspections of both raw materials and finished products to ensure they meet specifications.
Addressing Quality Issues:
Investigating and resolving any quality problems, including identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
Training and Mentoring:
Educating employees on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
Reporting and Documentation:
Preparing detailed reports on quality metrics, non-conformities, and corrective actions.

Qualifications and Experience:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Metallurgical Engineering or a related field.
2. Minimum of 11–16 years of experience in a quality management role, preferably in steel/metal industry with exposure to Strip and Pipe Mill operations.
3. In-depth knowledge of quality systems, metallurgical processes, and applicable industry standards (API, ASTM, ISO, etc.).
4. Strong understanding of non-destructive testing (NDT) methods and quality inspection tools.
5. Experience in managing audits and certifications (e.g., ISO 9001, API Q1/Q2).
6. Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
