A Sheet Metal Worker will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing sheet metal products, often following blueprints and specifications. This involves tasks like measuring, cutting, shaping, and joining sheet metal using various tools and techniques, including welding and soldering. They will also be involved in the maintenance and repair of existing sheet metal products and ensuring a safe and organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Fabrication & Assembly:
Accurately measuring, marking, and cutting sheet metal according to design specifications using hand and power tools, including shears, brakes, and punches.
2. Joining & Finishing:
Fastening sheet metal components through welding, soldering, riveting, or using other appropriate techniques.
3. Installation:
Installing sheet metal products, which may include HVAC ductwork, roofing, siding, or other metal structures, ensuring proper alignment and secure mounting.
4. Blueprint Interpretation:
Reading and understanding blueprints, diagrams, and specifications to determine the requirements of each project.
5. Material Handling:
Maneuvering and positioning large sheet metal parts and assemblies, ensuring safe and efficient handling.
6. Quality Control:
Inspecting finished products for defects and ensuring they meet the required standards and specifications.
7. Maintenance & Repair:
Performing routine maintenance and repairs on existing sheet metal products.
8. Safety Compliance:
Adhering to all safety regulations and protocols, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
9. Equipment Operation:
Operating and maintaining various tools and equipment, including hand tools, power tools, and potentially CNC machinery.
10. Team Collaboration:
Working effectively with other team members, including designers, project managers, and other tradespeople.
