Surgery Coder & QA

A Surgery Coder and QA professional reviews and assigns accurate medical codes for surgical procedures, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and regulations. This role involves both coding from medical records and auditing those codes for accuracy. They work with CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes, and may also be involved in identifying potential coding errors, resolving billing discrepancies, and collaborating with providers.
Key Responsibilities:
1>>Coding:
Assigning appropriate medical codes (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS) to surgical procedures based on medical record documentation.
2>>Quality Assurance:
Auditing coded records to ensure accuracy, identify discrepancies, and ensure compliance with coding guidelines and regulations.
3>>Documentation Review:
Analyzing medical records to extract relevant information for accurate coding and to identify potential documentation deficiencies.
4>>Collaboration:
Working with other coders, providers, and insurance companies to resolve coding and billing issues.
