A Commis II – North Indian is a junior-level cook position in a kitchen specializing in North Indian cuisine. This role involves assisting senior chefs in preparing and cooking dishes, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and adhering to safety and hygiene standards. The specific tasks may include ingredient preparation, cooking specific dishes, and ensuring food quality and presentation.
Key Responsibilities:
1>>Food Preparation:
Assisting in the preparation of ingredients, including chopping, dicing, and marinating, as well as cooking various North Indian dishes such as curries, tandoori items, and breads.
2>>Following Recipes:
Adhering to standardized recipes and presentation guidelines to maintain consistency in food quality and taste.
3>>Maintaining Hygiene:
Ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen, including the tandoor area, and following proper food handling and storage procedures.
4>>Assisting Senior Chefs:
Working under the guidance of senior chefs, learning from them, and contributing to the smooth operation of the kitchen.
5>>Inventory Management:
Helping with inventory control, including checking stock levels, and ensuring proper storage of ingredients.
Equipment Operation:
6>>Safely operating and maintaining kitchen equipment, such as tandoor ovens, gas ranges, and other cooking appliances.
