A Planning Engineer is responsible for developing, managing, and monitoring project schedules, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. They analyze project progress, identify potential risks and delays, and develop strategies for mitigation. Planning Engineers also work with project managers, other engineers, and contractors to ensure projects are executed according to plan.
Key Responsibilities of a Planning Engineer:
Project Scheduling: Creating and maintaining detailed project schedules using software like Primavera or MS Project.
Progress Monitoring: Tracking project progress, identifying potential delays, and reporting on performance.
Risk Management: Identifying and assessing potential risks, and developing mitigation strategies.
Resource Management: Allocating and coordinating resources, ensuring efficient utilization.
Cost Control: Monitoring project costs and identifying cost variances.
Collaboration: Working with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project alignment and communication.
Reporting: Preparing progress reports, MIS reports, and other documentation for management.

📝 Key Responsibilities:

Prepare Daily (DPR), Weekly (WPR), and Monthly Progress Reports (MPR)

Develop and manage Gantt Charts and Project Completion Schedules

Track project progress and update project tracking reports

Monitor and control project budgets and financials

Coordinate with project teams to ensure timely execution

🎓 Qualification: Degree/Diploma in Engineering – Mechanical or relevant field preferred.
